80 Andrew Avenue, Tarragindi went to public auction today with Charles Higgins calling the auction on behalf of selling agents Matt Jones and Peter Brown.

Andrew Avenue was the second November auction for Jeff Jones in the popular “Sandy Creek” precinct of Tarragindi after 71 Pope Street sold two weeks earlier.

A large crowd gathered as 9 parties registered to bid, excited to secure their slice of Tarragindi’s green belt. A classic post-war Tarragindi home offering a superb location, backing on to acres of parkland, 80 Andrew Avenue was expected to be hotly contested.

In just 5 minutes it was all finished. Early bidding was very strong, commencing at $620,000. $5,000 increments saw the price rise to $665,000 quickly.

New buyer interest saw the bidding continue to rise in different increments. It was a tight race in the end with the first bidder bettering a $682,000 bid. Charles Higgins called 3 times for further bids before announcing the property on the market, knocking it down for $684,000.
