After strong pre-auction interest, 6 bidders registered, many excited by the rare prospect of buying a property backing onto the popular Sandy Creek Park.
The temperature hit 29° as the auction started, bidders and interested neighbours finding shade under footpath trees. Auctioneer Charles Higgins chose to present “casual” with the suit jacket off.
Bidding opened at $600,000 and rose steadily in $5,000 increments. There was little hesitation from interested parties as the price reached $650,000.
Some urgent family discussions ensued amongst interested buyers as bidding increased with the hammer falling after a winning bid of $660,000.
